  • LAMP – is a full form of Linux, Apache, MySQL, and PHP. It’s an example of an infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) that provides users with computing hardware and database storage space on demand.
  • Linux – is an open-source operating system that anyone can use for free without paying license fees to any company. There are also different distributions (or distros) of Linux such as Ubuntu and Mint.
  • Laptop – is a portable computer that has a built-in keyboard and a pointing device (trackpad or touchpad). Most laptops use rechargeable batteries so they don’t have to be tethered to an outlet.
  • Laptop stand – is used to position the laptop at a more comfortable viewing angle than what you would get if you just placed it on your lap.
  • Log in – is necessary whenever someone is using your computer unless you’ve set up user accounts for them ahead of time by asking them their names, passwords, and other personalized info. This helps maintain security because only people with permission can access the information stored on the computer.
  • Log off – will close all programs on your computer after which you’ll no longer be able to access any files unless you’ve saved them to your hard drive.
  • Loop – is a continuous strand of material resembling wire; it can be used to connect one thing to another (hence the name). Loops are most commonly found in electronic music during which time DJs use them as samples.
  • Lossless audio codec – is an algorithm that reduces the size of digital audio files without losing any sound data, unlike lossy formats like MP3s. Lossless files are usually larger than their lossy counterparts but they’re preferred by audiophiles because they preserve quality better.
