At CES 2022, MSI presented its first Quantum Dot OLED monitor, MEG 342C QD-OLED. It is a curved gaming monitor using a Quantum Dot OLED panel. The MEG 342C QD-OLED has a 34-inch panel with a 21:9 aspect ratio of 3,440 x 1,440 pixels. Based on the other specifications that MSI has confirmed so far, it seems that the MEG 342C QD-OLED and Alienware AW3423DW could rely on the same panel.
FYI, a quantum dot panel is an OLED display that uses quantum dot technology to produce a higher-quality image. Quantum dots are tiny particles that emit light of a specific color, allowing for more precise control over the display’s colors and brightness. This results in a more realistic and vibrant image that is closer to the natural colors of the world around us.
The MEG 342C QD-OLED monitor from MSI is impressive for a variety of reasons. First, its 1800R curvature creates a more immersive experience for users. Furthermore, its 175 Hz refresh rate and 0.1 ms GtG response time ensure that images are displayed clearly and quickly.
The monitor’s wide color gamut means that it can accurately display a variety of colors. With 99% DCI-P3 coverage, MSI boasts of achieving an incredible 97+level according to Adobe RGB and sRGB standards as well Delta E levels below 2 thanks to their calibration process!
With its QD-OLED display, the MEG 342C should offer consumers an immersive experience without sacrificing quality. It’s been certified by VESA DisplayHDR 400 True Black certification and has a peak brightness of 1000 nits while having 178-degree viewing angles to ensure your games or videos have no problem being seen!
All of these features come together to create a monitor that is ideal for gaming, watching movies, or working on creative projects.
The MSI MEG 342C QD-OLED is one of the first monitors to come with Human Machine Interface (HMI) 2.0 technology, which allows it to sync up monitoring options such as brightness and modes on screen! Unfortunately, we don’t know when this amazing monitor will be available for purchase.
