RTX Spark: 6 OEMs, MediaTek, and the $2,899 Question

The Six-OEM Launch Lineup

Fall 2026 is shaping up to be the busiest quarter in the short life of NVIDIA RTX Spark. The AI-first superchip, introduced just months ago at GTC Taipei, is no longer a keynote slide. A full six OEM partners are readying systems for release this fall, with two more confirmed to follow, and the list reads like a who's who of the Windows laptop business.

NVIDIA's own newsroom names ASUS, Dell, HP, Lenovo, Microsoft Surface, and MSI as the launch partners, with Acer and GIGABYTE queued up for the second wave. Named models are starting to surface across OEM marketing pages: HP has confirmed RTX Spark in the OmniBook Ultra 16 and OmniBook X 14 and is pitching one of them as the thinnest RTX Spark laptop at launch, while reporting points to Dell's XPS 16 and a Lenovo Yoga-branded convertible joining the first batch.

MediaTek Steps Up, and a Price Starts to Take Shape

The biggest twist in the whole saga may not be NVIDIA's chip at all. MediaTek, a company best known for budget phone and set-top-box silicon, co-developed the Arm-based CPU side of RTX Spark alongside NVIDIA. It is MediaTek's formal entry into NVIDIA's AI PC ecosystem, and it puts the Taiwanese chipmaker at the same table as the OEMs that build most of the world's Windows laptops.

Beneath the hood, the platform pairs a 20-core Grace CPU with a Blackwell RTX GPU carrying up to 6,144 CUDA cores, fifth-generation Tensor Cores with FP4 precision, and up to 128GB of unified memory shared between CPU and GPU. NVIDIA rates the top configuration at up to 1 petaflop of FP4 AI performance, enough to run large local models, reportedly up to around 120 billion parameters, entirely on-device. A cut-down N1 tier trims that to a 10 or 12-core CPU, up to 2,048 CUDA cores, and up to 64GB of memory for thinner, cheaper machines.

Official pricing still has not been announced, but the numbers leaking out are drawing a clear picture. A Morgan Stanley analyst note pegs the high-end N1X configuration at roughly $2,899, with the lower N1 tier landing around $1,799 and up. OEMs, including Microsoft, HP, ASUS, and MSI, are deferring confirmed pricing to closer to launch, which leaves those figures as estimates rather than locked street prices.

Sold Out Before Launch: Reading the Fine Print

Add a pre-launch sellout story to the mix and RTX Spark starts to look like a phenomenon. ASUS told investors on its Q2 earnings call that its initial quantities were already fully pre-ordered by channel partners, while MSI product manager Peng Renfang said customers from mainland China, Taiwan, and the United States were actively placing orders, with the first batch of high-end N1X laptops nearing a sellout.

Those are real claims from public companies, but they deserve a skeptical read. "Sold out" here means channel allocation: the first production run NVIDIA agreed to supply has already been claimed by distributors and retailers, not that individual shoppers have emptied retail shelves. NVIDIA has run tight initial allocations on GPU launches for years, a playbook that builds anticipation ahead of a wider retail ramp. This is a supply-planning story first and a demand story second.

A few open questions are worth flagging ahead of the fall wave:

  • Software compatibility - Arm-based Windows machines have a mixed track record, and RTX Spark needs broad app support, not just emulation, to justify its price against traditional x86 laptops.
  • Confirmed pricing - The $2,899 and $1,799 figures remain analyst estimates; rising memory costs could push actual street pricing higher.
  • Delivery dates - "Fall 2026" and "later 2026" are the only public windows for several partners, so some announced systems may not reach buyers before year-end.

The competitive backdrop makes all of this more interesting. RTX Spark enters a Windows-on-Arm race Qualcomm's Snapdragon X has run largely alone, while Apple's M-series has set the bar for on-device AI in the Mac lineup. NVIDIA's pitch leans on its GPU heritage: a machine that can run a 120-billion-parameter model locally while still playing modern games above 100 fps, a combination neither Snapdragon X nor Apple's integrated GPUs currently target as their headline use case.

The real question is whether buyers will pay an Apple-tier premium for local AI horsepower instead of leaning on cheap cloud subscriptions. That is the bet RTX Spark is making, and fall 2026 will be its first real test.
