Causes The 10cm braided extension acts as a lever on the 90° head: any bump or tug briefly breaks contact on the CC and data pins, so charging restarts and drives unmount. A head that isn't fully clicked into the port, lint or wear inside the device port, a weak female socket on the adapter, or a partially broken wire pair inside the extension all show up as intermittent drops that only happen when the cable moves...

Causes The adapter is fully wired for USB 3.2 Gen 2, but data only passes if the cable plugged into its female end carries data wires — phone-charger cables are often charge-only, and a USB 2.0 cable caps the whole chain at 480 Mbps instead of the adapter's 10 Gbps. An Android phone set to 'Charging only', dirty data pins, or the high-speed pairs snapped inside the 10cm extension after repeated bending at the 90° joint all produce the classic 'charges but no data' symptom...

Fix Not Charging / PD Pass-Through Not Working on the Anker PowerExpand USB-C Right Angle Adapter

Causes The PowerExpand's 10cm braided extension adds an extra plug between your charger and device, and 100W PD pass-through only works if the e-marker and CC pins are read end-to-end — a partially seated 90° head, a charger or cable rated below 100W upstream, or lint blocking the device port's CC pin all break negotiation, so the device falls back to 5V and charges slowly or not at all. A cracked power rail inside the 90° joint from repeated bending produces the telltale 'charges only at one angle' symptom...
