Red Dead Redemption 2 has been on the minds of thousands of players and fans ever since the release of the first game; a game many people consider one of Rockstar’s best. Finally released on the 26th October 2018, the game acts as a sort of prequel to the first Red Dead Redemption and fills in some of the blanks players would have had with the first game. Available on PS4 and Xbox One, the game returns you to the Western-themed setting of the Wild West, as it slowly comes to its inevitable end.
Dragon Quest XI is the 11th main instalment in the Dragon Quest series of games from the developers over at Square Enix and was released back in 2017 originally in Japan but was localised for PS4 and Steam on the 4th September 2018. This classic JRPG is designed to bring back many JRPG tropes that we all know and love, while giving them all a fresh coat of paint as the story plays out and develops in front of the player’s very eyes.
Marvel’s Spider-Man is the recently released title from developers of Ratchet & Clank fame, Insomniac Games, and was released exclusively on the PS4 on the 7th September 2018. Insomniac’s take on Spider-Man was designed to reset Spider-Man’s notion for being in some pretty bad games and finally create him one that was fun to play from start to finish, all the while managing to have some great web-swinging capabilities. Now, did Insomniac Games manage to do just that? Let’s find out!
Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire is the sequel to the original Pillars of Eternity, which was an epic-RPG in the classic style. Any fans of the original Fallout games or Baldur’s Gate will know exactly what to expect from this narrative focused CRPG. Deadfire takes away from the usual fantasy motif of being set in and around forests, swamps, ruins, that sort of thing and has instead moved for the open seas in a swash-buckling adventure that has you taking command of your own ship. Even with this new addition, the developers have managed to retain what everybody loved about the original in the first place.
God of War 4 is the latest reboot for the ever-popular God of War franchise, and while the internet has made plenty of jokes about this title being more of a glorified escort quest, with the name of Son of War. Even with these jokes, everyone has come to the general consensus that this is one of the strongest titles to have ever hit the PS4 during its lifespan.
Ni No Kuni 2: Revenant Kingdom is the sequel to the beloved JRPG from Level-5 studios, Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch. In this game, you set about in this gorgeous fantasy landscape that sees you focusing on a band of characters, each one just as memorable as the last as you step out into the world to make the world a better place for all!
The latest game in the Tales of series, Berseria is an outstanding JRPG from the developers over at Bandai Namco. Learning from all of the best Tales of games on offer, Berseria really has learned from the best and has resulted in a JRPG experience that you’re not going to want to miss anytime soon, that’s for sure.
Square Enix have been a developer that’s been relatively hit and miss over the last few years. Some of their games have been great; yet some have been mediocre at best. After how hit and miss FF13 turned out to be, I don’t think anyone had the highest hopes for the next mainstream Final Fantasy title, but did FF15 manage to push past all that and become the next best RPG from Square Enix? Well, let’s find out!
When Nioh was first announced, a lot of people saw it as a Dark Souls clone and for a very good reason. It seems pretty much the same as DS, it has a similar gameplay, but we had to wait until launch to find out that Nioh is much more than that.
