Causes
- Known software bug in the browser-based charge reporting — The LYCAN 8K is configured through the mouse.xyz web tool, and reviewers documented that while the mouse charges in wired mode, the software frequently will not update the displayed charge level to 100% — it stalls at a lower percentage even though the cell is actually full. The fix confirmed by testing: switch the mouse over to wireless and refresh the browser tab, and the percentage then reads 100%. The web app polls the battery state from the receiver/radio path, and in wired mode that state refresh path fails to push the final "full" update.
- Charging detection being interrupted by the data connection — The LYCAN 8K's single USB-C port handles both charging and data. When the mouse is connected as a wired mouse, the Nordic 54L MCU is actively communicating over the same cable, and the charging IC's state reporting can get out of sync — the gauge thinks charging is still in progress (or has paused) and never transitions to the "100% full" state that triggers the LED to go solid and the software to show 100%.

How to Fix
- Use the wireless-mode refresh workaround — While the mouse is plugged in and charging, let the LED indicator settle (the LED stops blinking when charging completes). Then unplug the USB-C cable, switch the mouse to wireless mode, open mouse.xyz, and refresh the tab. The charge percentage should now read 100%. This is the documented, reliable fix for the stuck-below-100% display bug on the LYCAN 8K — the software simply needs the radio path to re-poll the battery state.
- Update the mouse firmware — Open mouse.xyz with the mouse connected and check the firmware tab for available updates. G-Wolves shipped firmware revisions that improve battery state reporting and charging behavior. Keep the mouse plugged in throughout the update and leave the tab open until the tool confirms success. After updating, repeat the wireless refresh check — many users see the 100% reporting issue disappear entirely after a firmware update.
- Charge with the included cable and a proper 5V adapter — Use one of the two included USB-C cables (they are confirmed data+charge capable) plugged into a wall adapter or a USB port that provides a stable 5V supply. Avoid charging from a front-panel USB port on a PC that may be in a low-power state, and avoid charge-only cables that skip the data lines.
