Causes
- Windows Power Management is set by default to turn off the WiFi/Bluetooth adapter to save power — after sleep, hibernation, or idle periods, the adapter fails to reinitialize properly, causing it to disappear from Device Manager or show Code 43 errors
- Outdated or incorrect Realtek/Intel WiFi driver — the driver version installed by Windows Update may lack critical fixes for power-state transitions, especially for the Intel AX210 (WiFi 6E) or Realtek 8821CE modules commonly shipped in ACEMAGIC M5 units
- RF interference from the metal chassis and internal components — the M5's compact all-metal/plastic construction can attenuate wireless signals, particularly when the unit is placed behind a monitor or inside a metal cabinet
- Bluetooth coexistence conflict — when both WiFi and Bluetooth are active on the same 2.4 GHz band, the Realtek adapter can experience scheduling conflicts that cause Bluetooth input devices (mouse, keyboard, headphones) to stutter or disconnect
- Antenna cable loose or disconnected during shipping — the M5's internal antenna wires connect to the WiFi module via tiny U.FL connectors; vibration during transport can partially unseat these connectors, causing intermittent signal loss
How to Fix
- Disable WiFi adapter power saving: press Win + X → Device Manager → expand Network adapters. Right-click your WiFi adapter (usually Intel AX210 or Realtek 8821CE Wireless LAN) → Properties → Power Management tab → uncheck "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" → click OK.
- Repeat the same for Bluetooth: expand Bluetooth right-click the Bluetooth adapter → Properties → Power Management → uncheck the same power-saving option. Also check the Bluetooth adapter's Advanced tab and ensure all radio states are set to Enabled.
- Install the latest WiFi and Bluetooth drivers directly from the chipset manufacturer: visit intel.com (for AX210) or realtek.com (for 8821CE). Download and install the latest WiFi driver AND Bluetooth driver separately. After installation, restart the M5 and verify the adapter appears correctly in Device Manager without any warning icons.
- Disable WiFi power saving in advanced adapter settings: go back to Device Manager → Network adapters → right-click WiFi adapter → Properties → Advanced tab. Find Power Saving Mode, Low Power Mode, or Preferred Band. Set Power Saving Mode to Disabled and Preferred Band to 5 GHz (this avoids 2.4 GHz coexistence conflicts with Bluetooth).
- Run the Windows network troubleshooter: go to Settings → System → Troubleshoot → Other troubleshooters → Network & Internet → Run. This will reset the network stack and flush DNS if needed.
- Check antenna connections (advanced): shut down the M5, unplug power, and remove the bottom panel. Locate the wireless module (usually a small card near the RAM slots). Ensure the two tiny antenna cables (usually white/grey or black/white) are firmly pressed onto their U.FL connectors. A faint click indicates proper seating. Use tweezers if necessary — avoid pulling on the cable itself.
- If Bluetooth disconnects persist with input devices, switch your Bluetooth mouse/keyboard to the 5 GHz WiFi band only: go to WiFi adapter Advanced properties → Preferred Band → 5 GHz. This forces WiFi off the congested 2.4 GHz spectrum, eliminating Bluetooth coexistence interference from the Realtek shared-radio module.
- As a last resort, reset network settings completely: open PowerShell as Administrator and run
netsh winsock resetfollowed bynetsh int ip reset. Then restart the M5. If the adapter still shows Code 43 or disappears from Device Manager, the WiFi module may need replacement — ACEMAGIC support can ship a replacement Intel AX210 module under warranty.
