The highly popular Crenova XPE460 LED video projector is gaining a lot of attention from the tech-savvy public for all the right reasons. The popularity has to do with the basis that it is cheap but tightly packed with all the functionality a video projector is supposed to provide.
It is also one of the best-looking projectors in this price range with a glossy, sleek look to it and it comes in two colors namely black and white. Its dimensions are 8″x6″x3″, and it is very lightweight weighing a little over 2 lbs. It comes with a VGA port, an HDMI port, two USB ports a slot for SD cards, and an RCA connection.
Additionally, the remote control is provided as well with primary buttons, so anyone from this generation will be able to use it. If that were not enough, Crenova delivers the HDMI cable and the RCA AV adaptor. It also has a headphone port, in case you want to watch a movie alone without disturbing anyone at home.
On testing the projector, the following I concluded with the following pros and cons.
- Display and sound: The display and the sound can be adjusted from the menu depending on your preferences. You can customize anything from color temperature to the aspect ratio to noise reduction. Though the projector only comes with a maximum display of 800*480 pixels, the resolution of the images displayed was more than decent, and they are sharp with no hint of grainy appearance. Plus the speaker from the Crenova provided ambient sound which makes it loud enough for a room of people.
- Portability: Since this projector was designed for home use, the size and design of the projector are the other attributes that enhance the quality of this Crenova XPE460 LED video projector. Its size allows the secure transfer and movement from one room to another. Also, because of its lightweight, it can also be carried while on the go, in case you want to be able to watch your movies on a large screen wherever you go or if you want to give a quick video presentation in an office or a class. All in all, this is a versatile projector that can be used for many purposes.
- Humming sound: A fan is provided at the back of the projector, to provide cooling, if in case it gets overheated during use. As a result, a small humming sound is produced due to the rotation of the fan. Therefore, some users who are highly sensitive to background noises can find it irritating at times, but most of the time, the humming sound is canceled by the audio from the videos that you are watching.
- Lack of batteries: All of the components that are required to use the projectors are provided as I have pointed out earlier, but it was ironic to find that the batteries for the remote control are not delivered.
On compiling the whole review, and on weighing the pros and cons of this model, I realized that this projector is a good investment, regarding its functions what it promises to do, and more than that. So if anyone is looking to acquire one for personal and home purposes, I would recommend the Crenova XPE496 LED video projector.
